Careers
2026 Candidacy
Step 1: Letter of recommendation from a previous employer OR sponsorship from one of our upper level Technicians. This letter of recommendation should be submitted along with a current resume including employment references. Resume’s without an accompanying letter of recommendation or employment references will not be considered.
Step 2: We will reach out directly to those selected for an interview. Our selection bias seeks those with a provable record of integrity, those that are coachable and that take pride and ownership in their work - irrespective of previous job type.
Step 3: Background check and driving abstract. A clean driving record is mandatory.
Step 4: Physical fitness test. Rescue is physically demanding and cognitively burdensome. Physical readiness ensures our teams are adequately prepared to physically respond under duress. This test is performed while wearing a class 3 harness, a self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) pack and mask. Candidates will have 12 minutes to perform the following exercises.
30 meter Ladder climb
30 meter dummy drag
50 meter farmer carry @ 50% of candidates individual body weight
100 foot Stair climb
Confined space maze
Step 5: Onboarding training. This training process is comprehensive and may take multiple weeks to complete. Fielding prepared teams requires training to the NFPA 1006/2500 Technician level JPR’s for Rope and Confined Space Rescue. Additionally, occupational safety training in Fall Protection and Industrial Hygiene will be incorporated into the onboarding sequence. Promotion through our Levels 2 and 3 also requires SPRAT rope access certification, which is provided at no cost to our staff.
Wages are among the highest in the country. Job placement is predicated on individual skill level, the ability to operate as a professional and contributor to a small team of professionals. The broader the individual capability (EMT/Paramedic license, SPRAT certification, occupational safety education or endorsements) the broader the opportunities.
