  • The NFPA JPR’s (job performance requirements) for Operations Level rope rescue assign fundamental tasks such as anchor building and operation of basic lowering and raising systems. The differentiating factors between Operations and Technician level are typically defined by the level of vertical movement performed at each level. Operations level tends to assign more ground based tasks- with less exposure- while Technician levels are held by those with the advanced knowledge, skill and ability to safely perform more advanced aerial movements with a larger degree of technicality. Operations level is where every practitioner begins and is therefore a foundational step in gaining proficiency.

Our approach to instructing is to maximize the students operating equipment and various rescue systems while being allowed to make mistakes in a controlled and supervised manner. We place an emphases on developing strong communication and critical thinking skills during our technical rescue courses and focus our pedagogy on developing repeatable skillsets at every level. Course participants can expect to rotate through leadership roles while being challenged to perform and direct the individual JPR’s outlined within the NFPA standards.
